Guided by Grace and Devotion

I am often called the “founder” of Spirit & Truth Worship Center, but I humbly reject that title. How can I claim to have founded something already destined by the Divine? What I truly am is a man blessed by God to shepherd the incredible saints of Spirit and Truth, and I embrace this honor with gratitude and reverence.

A Life-Altering Encounter

My profound journey began on August 17, 1992, when I made the life-changing decision to say “I do” to Jesus Christ, becoming an earthly ambassador for the Kingdom of Heaven. Having just moved from New York to North Carolina, my heart was brimming with hope and a deep yearning for transformation. Little did I know, God would meet me in my search and forever alter my path. Even after 28 years, the memory of that day remains vivid. On that fateful day, I repented, I was transformed, and my sins were washed away. A wave of divine refreshing from the Lord's presence enveloped me, just as described in Acts 3:19.

Renewed in Spirit and Purpose

Acknowledging Jesus Christ is a profound step, but being filled with His Holy Spirit is a transformative experience. This sacred conversion made all things new, in line with 2 Corinthians 5:17. When I moved to North Carolina, God not only renewed my spirit but also laid a solid foundation for my life. On December 6, 1997, I married my beautiful wife, Sheila, and together we were blessed with two wonderfully gifted children: Jair and Jasira. The honor and joy of parenting them has been a divine blessing.

Faith-Guided Path in Education and Career

God's guidance has profoundly shaped my career. I earned an associate's degree from Pitt Community College, followed by an undergraduate degree/Graduate Certificate from East Carolina University (ECU), and a Masters Degree from Grand Canyon University as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS). In my professional capacity as a substance abuse counselor and clinician, I see my work as an extension of my ministry. This dual role allows me to bridge the gaps between patients’ mental, clinical, and spiritual well-being. Many times, their struggles are rooted in a lack of connection with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Through God’s grace, I have witnessed remarkable success in helping them forge that connection.

Testament of Faith and Service

My life stands as a testament to the truth that through Christ, we can overcome all challenges. Complete surrender to Him ensures that He will direct your steps. Each trial I have faced, from personal struggles to professional obstacles, has been surmountable through unwavering faith and divine guidance. With His strength, I have found resilience, purpose, and a profound sense of peace, knowing that His hand is always leading the way.
